Hello, my name is Kathryn and I am a BACP accredited Person-Centred psychotherapist. My passion is helping people to understand themselves more deeply so that they can identify the path to a happy and meaningful life.

About Me

I hold a master’s degree in Person-Centred Experiential Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice from the University of Nottingham. I also hold a BSc in Psychology from the University of York.

In my previous career in the corporate world, I felt most at home when my job allowed me to connect with and help others. The support of a psychotherapist during a challenging period in my life allowed me to experience the benefits of therapy first-hand. This gave me a greater understanding of myself and what I needed to feel fulfilled in my life. It also inspired me to retrain as a therapist so that I could offer that opportunity to others.

My Approach

My aim as a psychotherapist is to offer you an environment of compassion and empathy, in which you will feel understood, valued and accepted. I am here to help you explore distressing feelings and emotions, and to support you in making sense of past experiences or unwanted behaviour patterns.

I believe that each of us instinctively knows what decisions are best for us, but that sometimes we lose confidence in ourselves or become influenced by the opinions of others.  Our sessions are an opportunity to reconnect with the “real you”, and to understand yourself on a deeper level. As your self-acceptance and self-confidence develop, you will feel empowered to make the choices which will lead to longstanding positive changes in your life.

My Experience

My experience as a person-centred therapist includes:

I have experience of working with people from a variety of backgrounds, and ranging in age from 18 to 80+.

I offer a free, no-obligation 20-minute initial appointment which would give you the opportunity to meet me, and to explore what you are seeking from therapy. These sessions can be done by telephone or Zoom and may help you to decide whether you would like to start sessions with me.
